The Power of Connection: Why Communication Between Setters and Hitters Changes Everything

In volleyball, timing and trust make all the difference. A perfectly placed set means nothing without a hitter who knows exactly when and where to attack—and that connection starts with communication.

As we head into our Setter–Hitter Connection Clinic on November 16, we’re diving deep into one of the most important relationships on the court: the bond between the playmaker and the finisher.

This session is all about rhythm, reading the game, and learning how to talk through the play—even when words aren’t possible.
Setters will learn how to read hitters’ approaches, while hitters will focus on anticipating tempo and trusting the setter’s hands. Together, they’ll build consistency and chemistry through deliberate reps and feedback.

We’re thrilled to welcome Jayleen Barco Cruz, setter for Fayetteville Tech Community College, and Naomi Chester, outside hitter for Louisburg College, as our featured guest coaches. Their college-level insight will help our athletes see how small details in communication—like eye contact, tempo calls, and post-play feedback—can completely transform a team’s offense.

Strong teams don’t just practice skills—they practice connection. That’s what separates good plays from great ones.

Our November 16 clinic is officially sold out, but keep an eye on our upcoming sessions at PantherVolley.com. We’re continuing to build opportunities for athletes to grow their confidence, strengthen their fundamentals, and learn what it takes to play as one.

If you missed this session, don’t worry—more training dates are being added to the calendar each month.
